Meet the Team

RHIZA is made up of people, not a platform.

Our team of dedicated account managers is here to support you every step of the way, delivering what’s needed to support precision farming on your farm.

Our team members have a background in agriculture or are FACTS qualified and are here to help interpret the data and assist with the decision making throughout the year.

ALEX ROGERS

RHIZA Crop Input Specialist - North of England

Growing up on a small farm in North Yorkshire, Alex has always had a strong interest in agriculture. After gaining a BSc (Hons) in Agriculture from Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester, he travelled to Western Australia to work on a farm, before returning to take up the role of farm trader in Stokesley, North Yorkshire.  Alex’s experience spans grain trading, fertiliser and seed sales and makes him an invaluable addition to the RHIZA Crop Input Specialist team.

BEN FOSTER

RHIZA Crop Input Specialist - Anglia

Ben might not have grown up on a farm, but with a dad who’s an agronomist, you’re bound to pick up a few things. Although perhaps it was the idea of riding quad bikes across fields all summer that first saw him take a job in agriculture to help him through university? Either way, Ben realised he loved being outside and loved ag-life and soon followed a path focused on soil health and GIS/remote sensing, working his way from summer field operator to full time account manager with us. He loves tinkering with tech in his spare time or telling anyone who’ll listen how his village rugby team is better than the nation of Canada.

DAN WOOD

RHIZA Crop Inputs Specialist - South

Dan grew up on a family farm in South Devon and his love for country sports and helping out around the farm sees him outdoors as much as he can physically manage.

He brings over 10 years of experience in farm management software, spanning from Farmplan/Gatekeeper to John Deere – when it comes to tech, there isn’t much he doesn’t know! Having worked in the industry for this long, his passion lies in utilising new and emerging technology to help improve farming systems for growers.

When Dan is taking a break from field walking, you can normally find him watching rugby, spending time with his family or enjoying a game of golf.

DAVID O’DONOHOE

RHIZA Crop Input Specialist - Lincolnshire

Having grown up on the family farm in Ireland, David has been working in agriculture since before it was cool. He’s spent time travelling around working on farms in other countries before putting roots down in English soil. He joined RHIZA in 2019, bringing with him a whole host of experience in GPS and crop monitoring technologies. He admires the way that technology and farming can work together seamlessly, and the benefits that come from this relationship…so we reckon he’s working in the right place!

ELLIE BROWNING

Crop Inputs Specialist - South (Kent)

Ellie has been working in agriculture for nearly 8 years, getting into the industry through her local young farmers group and working across multiple areas including livestock, arable, vineyards and general farm maintenance. Agronomy has always been a key interest and her role as a Crop Inputs Specialists allows Ellie to work closely with Agrii agronomists to provide advice and strategic support on farm.

Ellie documents farming both inside and outside of work to the world, using her Instagram account @The_Farmerette to demonstrate how accessible agriculture can be to anyone looking to join the industry!

JACK WILSON

RHIZA Crop Input Specialist - Lothian & Borders

When you grew up on a mixed farm with dairy cattle, driving tractors and milking animals, selling cars and windows just doesn’t cut it. So Jack jumped at the opportunity to join RHIZA and get back into agriculture with a career in an industry he loves. When he’s not working, you’ll find him moving around somewhere – either hill walking, cycling, climbing or horse-riding – or getting stopped by security thanks to metal plates from sledging and horse-riding accidents!

JON GREENMAN

Head of Commercial

Growing up in a rural area, Jon always had farming friends and an interest in the countryside. So much so, they even encouraged him to join Young Farmers! He’s been working in agriculture for over six years – covering everything from livestock systems to specialist fertiliser for soil improvement. He joined RHIZA because of his love of ag technology, to help customers use digital and precision tools to manage their farm businesses more effectively. If he’s not rearing livestock at home, you might find him restoring an old fishing boat (despite living nowhere near the sea!)

JOSH MURPHY

Product Manager

Josh joined RHIZA in February 2023, bringing with him a great deal of experience from various walks of farm life. He grew up around his grandparents’ arable farm in Norfolk, so he’s been driving tractors since he could reach the pedals! His previous jobs have seen him working as a harvest student for Velcourt, at John Deere as their Precision Ag Lead and even as an Account Manager for SoilQuest many moons ago…

Josh joined RHIZA to help farms become more resilient and sustainable by using digital technology. He believes that a platform such as Contour can help make the seemingly impossible an achievable goal.

When Josh isn’t getting stuck into the technical side of RHIZA, you’ll probably find him cycling, walking his two dogs or restoring his vintage tractor. His small flock of sheep also keep him out of trouble!

NATHAN LEWIS

Administration & Operations Manager (South)

Nathan has always had agriculture in his blood. The first 18 years of his life were spent growing up on a pig farm, and since then he’s worked across all areas of the agricultural business, from pigs and dairy to general farm work to transporting seed, spraying and plenty of field work. It’s been a busy 22 years for him! Nathan’s belief that precision farming is the key to the future of agriculture saw him join RHIZA – and it meant he could get his farming fix without getting his hands dirty! Nathan loves anything to do with being outside in the countryside, but he particularly loves spending his spare time shooting, playing football and cycling. He’s even turned this last hobby into a fantastic way to raise money for charity and in 2017 he cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats.

POPPY BUNTING

Crop Inputs Specialist - Anglia

Poppy has agriculture in her blood, growing up on a mixed family farm, studying Agriculture with Crop Management at Harper Adams University and being an active member of the Young Farmers to further her love of farming. She brings a breadth of knowledge to her role at RHIZA, including previous experience working in seed. She loves working in agriculture and sees digital agriculture as the future of farming – and she wants to be a part of it!

Like many of our RHIZA CIS, Poppy loves the great outdoors and is often found out on the farm or hanging out with her labrador Arthur.

SAM FORDHAM

Head of Technical

With 25 years of farming experience, and fifteen of those years spent working in agricultural businesses, there’s not much that Sam doesn’t know about rural life. He’s been sharing his technical knowledge and expertise with our team (and our customers!) since he joined us back in 2012. If he’s not on the farm, he’s probably behind the wheel, having won the National Forestry Rally Championship and his class in the British Rally Championship twice! Or you might find him pondering why his dad secretly hoovers the dog before bedtime… yeah, we don’t know why either.

SAUL CREED

RHIZA Crop Input Specialist - Central West

Saul’s love of agriculture saw him get into the business from a young age, helping with lambing and harvests from the age of 16 and getting into arable cropping as soon as he was able to get behind the wheel. This love of all things agriculture also inspired his choice to study and achieve a BSc (Hons) in Agriculture at Harper Adams. Saul joined RHIZA in the summer of 2021, as it combined two of his passions in a perfect mix – agriculture and forward-thinking technology. After a few months working out on a farm in New Zealand, he still absolutely loves being in the great outdoors where he spends time shooting with friends or walking his dog.

TIM HATTON

RHIZA Crop Input Specialist - Central Scotland

Tim has worked in agriculture for over… well… as long as he can remember. First it was as a dairy herd manager for ten years, then it was as a potato growing manager for twelve years. He’s nothing if not diverse. And it sits perfectly with his hobbies of working and gardening! He joined us in 2019 to help farmers improve their farm performance and profitability and that’s where you’re likely to find him – unless you can hear someone butchering Stairway to Heaven, which would be Tim trying to learn to play the guitar in his spare time!
